Right I used to live in Zimbabwe, if you are going on safari you need clothes that will blend in and camouflage you, no bright colours such as reds and yellows they will warn the animals and you may miss out, also try and keep to cottons and linen as they will keep you cool, no nylons far to hot. Nice linen shirt, khaki t shirt, combat style shorts/pants not saying you have to look like G.I Jane.In the evening i don't know what your fashion taste is but make sure you have something to cover your arms it gets cold of a night and the mosquito's are a nightmare and the risk of malaria, so make sure you get plenty of repelant and mozzy tablets. Hope you have a fantastic trip! P.S I just googled "clothes for a safari" loads of info came up on what to take Good Luck!

DEPENDS WHERE YOU ARE GOING. i SUGGEST SUMMERY CLOTHES BUT MAKE SURE YOU PROTECT YOUR SHOULDERS. eLEPHANT RIDE COULD BE THROUGH FOREST TYPE TERRAIN SO MAKE SURE OU DON'T CATCH YOUR SKIN OFF THORNS ETC. BRING A HAT TO PROTECT YOU ALSO. HIKING BOOTS OR STRONG RUNNERS. ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A RAIN JACKET WITH HOOD IN CASE OF TROPICAL RAINS. HAVE A GOOD TIME.

(There are in fact a lot of elephant back safaris in South Africa.) http://www.sa-venues.com/activities/...afaris.htmWhen going on a safari, you should wear:1. Wide brim hat or scarf for sun protection.2. Cotton long sleeved shirts — Tsetse flies, mosquitos, and other insects can be brutal in some game parks. Also, temperatures can plummet at night.3. Fleece for cool evenings — It is also great as an extra pillow on planes and a butt cushion on safari drives.4. Durable underwear that can be handwashed — leave the silkies at home.5. Urban sandals.6. Shower shoes — mandatory and cheap. You would be surprised what type of foot diseases are just lurking within public-type showers.7. Bandanas or scarves.8. Hair bands.9. Light rainproof jacket.10. Long pants (not short, like everyone else mentioned) that are cool as well as tough.
