Default My Lexus ES300 engine dies after starting.?

Was told air intake valve needed cleaning,or should I change it? Any other suggestions?Maybe they said air flow valve or something? Toyota place sprayed it with some cleaner to "remove deposits" and it seems to be better, but not entirely. Wondered if I need to replace the "valve" or just spray it on a regular basis? Thanks! It's a 1999 Lexus ES300 with 83,000 miles. He was able to spray it by removing the air intake cover, didn't have to get into the engine.

If you own a Lexus, you shouldn't be looking for advice on a forum like this. Are you sure you can afford to own this car? You need to find a good, honest, competent Lexus mechanic. Good luck.

Usually it's because the idle air control valve (IACV) gets clogged with carbon. It either needs to be cleaned (not sprayed) or replaced. Can also be the throttle body or EGR valve needs cleaning/replacement.This is a really common problem with the ES300, see links below.
