i am wondering if the military accepts these and if they will or wont make fun of you , of not only these but like any stuff that famlies bring you. does the military accept b-ball shorts, watches, shoes, pictures, money, and some other stuff unlikely like portable devices like mp3/cd's , portable games, magazines etc. i am just wondering i know these stuff are really unlikely but just to make sure. theres nothin wrong with asking and knowing.......

When my son signed up and went to basic, the only thing he could bring was himself. Once he was there we could send pictures, etc. When he went to Iraq you sent anything that was legal there (no pork, no booze) and that you knew could survive the sand. Ask your recruiter or commanding officer.I'm talking Marines btw.

military bases within the u.s. and some outside the u.s. are basically just towns within gates... people live there .. there are stores and gas staions and all that good stuff .. if you have a car that is registered and insured you can take nearly anything on a military base.. no drugs or weapons ..but other than that it is just another town and you can bring all luxeries on a base!! if you are talking about basic training... you cant have anything really except pictures .. but as soon as you are through with that, it is just a new town for you

No luxuries are allowed while in basic training and AIT. but after that... Well we had an Xbox in Iraq with us.

During Basic Training the answer is absolutly not. However as soon as you get to your first base, you can decorate any way you want as long as it is neat and clean. Trash, laundry and basic housekeeping.
